Dandenong South, Victoria – 4 July – MiTek is proud to announce the significant
expansion of its Melbourne facility in Dandenong South – a generational investment that will more than double the size of the existing site. This expansion reflects MiTek’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative building solutions and supporting customers and the long-term growth of the frame and truss industry across Australia and New Zealand.
The expansion into the neighbouring site will increase the total footprint to more than 15,000 square metres, bringing together MiTek’s office, warehousing and manufacturing operations with its Automation team. This strategic move will create one unified site with increased capacity, advanced capabilities and improved service delivery for customers.
“Our growth in this region reflects our continued investment in our customers and the broader industry,” said David Oliver, Managing Director, Asia Pacific. “This is a
transformational step for MiTek. It is not just about space – it is about building the right infrastructure to deliver smarter, faster and safer solutions that support our customers and the growth of the sector.”
This investment will allow for the development of State-of-the-Art Automation facility – offering a full range of Automation inventory to be held on site, and streamlining the supply chain for parts, machinery and customer integrations. It will significantly increase warehousing capacity and MiTek’s ability to manufacture and assemble equipment. Factory acceptance testing will also be conducted in house, enabling faster deployment of solutions tailored to local requirements.
The expanded facility brings with it a major uplift in operational capacity. Pressing
capacity will increase by over one third, whilst Posi-Strut production capacity will double – helping MiTek better support its customers as demand grows across both residential and commercial construction.
As part of the expansion, the new combined site will also feature a purpose-built Experience Centre – a space designed to showcase the full spectrum of MiTek’s innovations. From software and automation to engineering services and building products, customers will be able to see MiTek’s integrated solutions in action and explore how they can add value to their business.
This space will also serve as a hub for training, development and collaboration – helping to build capability across MiTek’s team and its customers and enabling the development of solutions that meet evolving industry needs.

“This expansion reinforces MiTek’s position as an innovator and trusted partner for the industry,” said Oliver. “By consolidating and expanding our operations, we are building an environment where we can engineer, test and deliver the next generation of solutions that help our customers succeed.”
This project forms part of MiTek’s broader investment across the Asia Pacific region. In addition to the Melbourne expansion, MiTek is also advancing its commitment in New Zealand with the development of a new, custom-built facility in Auckland – further strengthening its regional footprint and ability to serve customers on both sides of the Tasman.
The new Dandenong South site has been designed with safety as a core priority – for both the MiTek team and visiting customers. The site will offer a safer, more efficient and future-ready environment that reflects MiTek’s values and vision.
Fit-out of the expanded site is expected to begin in September, with operations
progressively transitioning as construction is completed.
“By investing in our facilities, our people and our customers, we are backing the future of frame and truss in Australia, New Zealand and Japan,” said Oliver.
